We usually don’t have weekly or monthly markets on the island.Honestly I don’t know why they named it Farmers market because there wasn’t many farmer. Te place was flooded with arts and crafts and home made beauty products.

We got there around 9:30 AM to enjoy this wonderful sunny day.Farmers Market

Family tradition ideas

Hello Lovelies,

Greetings from sunshine island.Today I want to share with you my future family tradition plans.Since i can remember i always wanted to have family traditions.Growing up I never had that so now that I have my own family I will definitely do it.I think that it is really nice to have family traditions to pass on future generations.
And keep family united.

  • Game night.
Once a week we will have game night. Each week a family member will choose what type of games the want to play.We can choose from board games to cards,UNO to twister, video games to domino. But of course our favorite “mens erger je niet”picture below.Every game counts as long we are spending quality time together as a family and having fun because that is what really matters.Mens erger je niet
  • 11th day
Every 11th of the month me and hubby at our turn(one month for him one month for me) must surprise each other with something romantic.Just because it is our anniversary date .We got married on December 11,2013
There is no need to do something fancy but just to show some love.Maybe a letter,a message o the radio or something small just to celebrate life.
  • Restaurants
Once a month we will go to a nice restaurant.Me and hubby likes to eat out and try new food. Before we moved to the Netherlands we used to eat out allot. When we moved back to Curacao after getting pregnant not so much. But that is something I would like to do again.Soon….Family traditions
  • Mother daughter day/Father daughter day
Just a day that we spend together with our daughter on one and one basis. What I mean is for example on this day I will take her to the spa to get a manicure and he can take her horse riding or something like that.Just a day to bond and make fun childhood memories. On this day she can also ask for whatever she want it’s a kind of yes day. Only if we can afford it of course. But she is only 6 months now so we will need to wait a little bit more before i can take her to the spa and he can take her horse riding.
  • Skip a day
When she goes to school she can choose 1 day in the trimester to skip school so that would be 3 times a school year. But she will need to earn this day with good grades. If she has one bad grade there is no skip a day for that trimester.
  • Family Photo
Every year we will have a professional photo shoot.Every year we will dress up and have fun while creating memories for a lifetime.

What are your family traditions?

22 weeks pregnancy update

Good morning Sunshine,

Today is Sunday 22nd of March 2015 and it is a beautiful day.
Today I want to share what’s been going on with me and baby bear this past couple of weeks.
So to start I need to say that it’s such a blessing being pregnant. It is what me and hubby always wanted.
We had decided on baby names way before we got pregnant and we are always discussing what the baby will look like and what kind of personality the baby will have. For example the baby will have his eyes but my eye color, his brows and eyelashes but my nose and a mix of both of our personality just fun things like that.

Today I’m 22 weeks and 5 days pregnant.
2 weeks ago I had my 20th week ultrasound and we found out that we are expecting a baby Girl. Yeeeyyy.
its-a-girl1

Sadly hubby couldn’t go to the appointment with me but that was more exciting because I surprised him with the gender reveal. He thought that I would have the appointment a day later.
I filled the room with pink balloons and when he got home he couldn’t believe his eyes.
He was so happy and emotional.I’m so sad i don’t have pictures to share with you.

The only lets call it side effect of the pregnancy for me is back pain.
Some days I’m in allot of back pains.
I’m one of the lucky prego moms that don’t have morning sickness.
I only vomit when I was sick with a cold. After that i didn’t vomit or had any other troubles beside the back pain.So i’m blessed.

This is all for this week.
Thank you all for reading.
Bye bye

Fright of my Life

Good morning sunshine.

Finally…. I know what I’m going to do with this blog!!!
I created this blog since last year but never knew what I would write about.
I’m always changing my mind about the content of the blog.
But after a horrible experience and a good outcome in the end I finally knew what I would want to write about.

After this experience I decided that I want to document my pregnancy.
I want to remember all the ups and downs, all good and bad, every single detail.
Years from now I would like to look back and remember how I felt being pregnant.

So today 21 Feb 2015 I am 18 weeks pregnant.Congratulations to me 🙂
Yesterday I had the fright of my life.I know it’s soon but I’m already feeling my baby bear moving around.
So during the evening i noticed that i didn’t feel baby bear today.
Usually I feel the kicks when I’m lying down or when I’m taking a shower or if I do not feel baby i would poke in the area I usually feel my little one till when I feel baby bear moving around.

I started poking and poking and poking and I didn’t feel my baby kicking back.
I was scared I started crying. With tears in my eyes I went to hubby and told him that I didn’t feel the baby move.So he called the clinic and they told me to come over to have a check up.

We arrived at the clinic after 11 pm.
The midwife got some general information and she couldn’t believe that I could feel the baby kicking this early in the pregnancy.I’m the first mom to be that she knew that could feel the baby moving this early.
So she checked the baby for a heart beat.It wasn’t till I hear my baby bear’s heart beat that my heart was at ease.I started crying of happiness because my little one was fine.

She start joking around that I was the first person she has ever had an intake with at 11:30 pm.
This was my first appointment with a midwife and it was a special one.
She also told me something I didn’t knew.Do not poke your belly just to feel baby move.
Just don’t. Poking around can cause contractions and contractions early in pregnancy is not something you would want ta have.

So after all I need to say that I’m really blessed and thankful to God that he protected my baby bear.

With Love Stephelis
